The City of Rovaniemi has renewed its English-language website. The site now provides more extensive information in English about the city’s basic services, everyday life, and events than before.
“For example, if we consider an English-speaking immigrant moving to Rovaniemi for work, possibly with a spouse and children, they need information about employment opportunities, leisure activities, how children’s schooling and early childhood education are organized, where they can study Finnish, and where to get guidance,” says Project Planner Vilma Kallio.
The city also uses the website content for city and relocation marketing.
The city’s event calendar is also available on the English-language site. Therefore, it is important that when event organizers publish events in the calendar, they also enter the event information in English.
The websites can be found at rovaniemi.fi/en and international.rovaniemi.fi.
The websites have been renewed in cooperation with the International Rovaniemi project. The aim of the project is to promote employment opportunities and access to services for residents who speak foreign languages.
