The city will implement the most popular ideas in 2027 as a part of participatory budgeting.
Rovaniemi is inviting its residents to share ideas on how to promote healthy habits. All residents of Rovaniemi can submit ideas on what could improve the everyday wellbeing of local people. Ideas can also focus on the development of Syväsenvaara and Muurola.
Every resident of Rovaniemi can submit ideas online, using a paper form, or by phone. The online form is available on the city’s website at rovaniemi.fi/ideas until 3 August 2026. Ideas can also be submitted by phone at 0403561578 or 0406214231.
The ideas must relate to municipal activities and may concern areas such as culture, sports and exercise, hobbies, the environment, or the arts. The city reminds residents that social and healthcare services are not part of its responsibilities.
Voting later this autumn, implementation in 2027
After the idea collection phase, the city will evaluate the feasibility of the proposals, their costs, maintenance expenses, and whether they promote healthyhabits. Proposals that meet the criteria will proceed to a public vote.
All residents of Rovaniemi will be able to vote for their favourite ideas later in autumn 2026. The city will implement the winning ideas in 2027.
