President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb, accompanied by his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb, will visit Rovaniemi from 26 to 27 May 2026.
On Tuesday 26 May, President Stubb will inspect the Lapland Air Wing. During the inspection visit, the president will receive an overview of Hornet flight operations and an update on the introduction of the new F‑35 multirole fighter fleet. The programme also includes a meeting with personnel at the Air Wing.
In the afternoon, the presidential couple will meet local residents at a public event at Lordi’s Square in central Rovaniemi, starting at 16.30.
Wednesday 27 May will begin with a visit to Vaaranlammen primary school, where the presidential couple will meet pupils and watch their performances.
The day continues with a visit to Geovisor, a company specialising in mining and geoconstruction services. During the visit, the presidential couple will be briefed on the company’s activities and the equipment used in its analysis and research.
The visit to Rovaniemi will end with a round table lunch discussion organised by the Lapland Chamber of Commerce. The discussion will address the attractiveness of tourism in Lapland and the development of international and domestic tourism. Representatives of several tourism companies from Lapland will participate.
In addition to the joint programme, Mrs Innes-Stubb also has a separate programme of visits. On Tuesday 26 May, she will be introduced to the Lapland District of the Finnish Red Cross and the activities of the local UNICEF branch.

Public event at Lordi’s Square
The presidential couple will meet residents of Rovaniemi at a public event at Lordi’s Square on Tuesday, May 26, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will include a greeting from Mayor Ulla-Kirsikka Vainio. Veera Vainio and Aleksi Virranniemi, students from Lyseonpuisto Upper Secondary School, will interview President of the Republic Alexander Stubb.
Music will be provided by the pop choir Väre from Music School Pop Up and soloist Heli Kaltiokumpu, accompanied by Kaisa Ristiluoma.
Starting at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the public will have the opportunity to greet the presidential couple and take photos with them.
