Rovaniemi’s new Mayor, Joonas Hänninen, took up his duties at the beginning of August.
“It is a joy and a privilege to lead such a wonderful city and to develop it together with the people of Rovaniemi,” says Hänninen.
During his first weeks in office, Hänninen is focusing on familiarising himself with his duties, preparing next year’s budget and getting to know the city’s operations.
Meeting residents, elected representatives, city employees, local businesses and other partners is also an important part of his work. Hänninen wants to engage in an open dialogue and exchange views on the development of Rovaniemi.
“I believe that open dialogue and listening to one another create the best conditions for success,” says Hänninen.
Meet the Mayor at the Main Library on 10 September
Mayor Hänninen will be available to meet residents at the Main Library on 10 September from 4:30 p.m. onwards.
“I hope as many people as possible will join me to chat, exchange ideas and share their own thoughts and suggestions for developing our city.”
