Operators undertaking activities that affect the environment have the obligation to register their activities in the environmental protection information system.
If a trader has established their business in another country within the European Economic Area and intends to provide their services temporarily in Finland, the trader is subject to the same obligations as all other traders established in Finland.
An activity cannot be registered if:
- The activities are located in an important or other groundwater area suitable for water supply.
- The activities may cause water pollution or it is a project subject to a permit under the Water Act.
- The discharge of waste water may cause the pollution of ditch, spring or rill.
- The activities in the environment may cause unreasonable strain in accordance with the act on certain neighbour relations.
- The activities are part of the activities of a directive facility.
In such cases, apply for an environmental permit for the activity.
The fee is based on the rates of the environmental protection authority.
