A zoo needs a permit from the municipal veterinarian to use its animals to feed other animals in the zoo.

The permit is granted by a veterinary inspector of the Rovakaari environmental health care area.

Apply for the permit by submitting a free-form, written application to the municipal veterinarian.

Apply for a permit by sending the application to the veterinary inspector of the Rovakaari environmental health care area, by post or by bringing it to the office. You can also send the application by email to valvontaelainlaakarit[at]rovaniemi.fi.

A zoo must notify the municipal veterinarian if their operations of using zoo animals to feed other zoo animals change or are terminated.

If the entrepreneur has established itself in another country in the European Economic Area and temporarily offers services in Finland, the same permits are required as from entrepreneurs established in Finland.

The fee is based on the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Decree on the chargeable services provided by municipal veterinarians.
