The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, or IB upper secondary school, prepares you for further studies at universities and other higher education institutions.
The teaching language is English.
The study programme leads to the IB Diploma and lasts two years.
The programme is intended for young people aged 16–19. The IB Diploma includes six subjects. With this internationally recognised diploma, you also have good opportunities to apply to universities abroad.
Alongside normal classroom learning, IB studies require a lot of independent work: studying materials, writing research papers, completing laboratory and fieldwork, and reporting your results.
Before starting the IB studies, you complete a preparatory year (preIB), where you study modified national upper secondary school courses in English to prepare for the IB programme. To enter the actual IB programme, you need to complete the preparatory year with good results.
