The Hobby Prescription model is used in schools that implement the Finnish model for hobby (Free Hobby Groups) participation. A professional working with students in grades 1 to 9 can write a hobby prescription. The prescription is made with the consent of the student and their guardian if the student wishes to find a meaningful hobby or the professional believes the student would benefit from it. The purpose of the hobby prescription is to reach children and young people who do not have a meaningful hobby.
