Hobbies for Children and Youth
The hobby groups of the Finland Model for Participation in Hobbies offer children and young people free activities during the school day at their own school.

In the 2025–2026 school year, the hobby groups of the Finland Model for Participation in Hobbies will offer students in grades 2–9 the opportunity to take part in free, interest-based activities during the school day. The activities are mainly provided through purchased services, and youth services are responsible for coordinating them. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The hobby groups of the Finland Model for Participation in Hobbies allow children and young people to participate in activities at their own schools, organized either in the school building or on the school grounds, before or after the school day. The goal is to offer every student a fun and free hobby as part of the school day. The activities are organized through collaboration between the city’s leisure services and schools.
