Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland Province and Santa Claus’s home town is situated on the Arctic Circle, 800 km north of Helsinki. Rovaniemi is a well-connected business hub and University City in the fast-growing area of northern Europe.

The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Lapland (ELY Centre) provides basic information on setting up a business. The ELY Centre can assist you in matters related to establishing a business. The service is confidential and the basic consultation is free-of-charge.


The three responsibility areas of the ELY Centre for Lapland are located in three facilities in Rovaniemi. The responsibility areas have a single postal address.
